Education

I have a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick, specializing in learning disabilities and reading intervention. My bachelor's degree is backed by many years of teaching, training, instructing, mentoring, encouraging, and generally investing in the lives of young people. I also have a reading intervention certification, as well as conversational English, and many hours of teaching in both a tutoring and teaching setting.

Experience

I have a strong background in teaching and tutoring. I have been a substitute teacher since 2016 for students from early education through twelfth grade. As a substitute, I have taught at Eastbrook, Sunrise, Uplands, Duchess, Bassano, Rosemary, Clearview, Lathom, Newell, and Tilly. My experience also includes working as a first and second-grade teacher at Rolling Hills Elementary, teaching technology classes, physical education, and being an assistant basketball coach. When I taught grades one and two at South Tallcree Elementary School, I had a highly effective success rate teaching reading to students at risk of reading failure. I also taught physical education and differentiated encoding instruction. I also helped with extracurricular programs such as Computer Club, Running Club, Kite Flying Club, and Animation Club. As a first, second, and third grade teacher at North Tallcree Elementary School, I set up a school laptop program and ran extracurricular programs such as free gym night, movie night, and guitar class. As a Preschool Children's Aid, I took on instructional duties and worked as direct support for a child with special needs. Before that, I worked as a teacher's assistant for School District 8, where I offered classroom support.

Hobbies

I am an educator from Edmundston, New Brunswick, who has a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of my student's. I believe that for an excellent education, my role as an educator is to nourish my student's natural curiosity, so that they are wilfully challenging themselves to develop as individuals who think constructively, creatively, and rise to meet the challenges within the domain of their own independent strengths and super powers. When I am not teaching or upgrading my skills, I like to spend time solving mysteries as freelance detective with my family and friends, eat biscuits, and chop down trees. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance and to offer my top secret agent services to your school. "Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind.
